'LIFE OF PERANAKAN WOMEN' WALL SCONCE

Incorporating a touch of Peranakan elements to our designs, this project aims to encapsulate the beauty of the Peranakan culture, bringing it to our everyday products.

About

The product tells a meaningful story about the Peranakan culture - The Life of a Peranakan Women

The unlit wall lighting represents the young Peranakan women, at the age of 12, getting their freedom taken away from them as they were restricted to their homes and from contact with any men. The Peranakans were very traditional hence they followed their culture strictly. However, once the Peranakan women gets married, it signifies their freedom, thus showing off their beauty to the outside world, which is represented by the lit wall lighting.
